EZ EMR has one goal: To bring you a robust, feature rich, EMR product at a very affordable price

About EZ EMR

Q:Is this product medically reliable?
A: Absolutely.   A physician with over 18 years experience was a consultant during the design process, a thorough beta testing was done at two sites, and then a screen by screen review by a physician assistant with 10 years of clinical experience and experience with 2 previous EMR's was done.

Q: Can EZ EMR interface with my current practice management/billing system?
A: We have an HL7 interface that allows us to integrate with most PM and billing systems..

Q: Is this product in use at a live clinic?
A: Yes, and it has been since May of 2009!  So this is not only a thoroughly tested product, but it has been running live for quite some time. Your clinic won't be an experiment!

Q: What about stimulus funds??
A: Right now the specific requirements to receive stimulus funds are unclear.  However the most important aspect to receive funds appears to be 'meaningful use of EMR'.  Details on that are available here.

Q: How much does this cost?
A:  This is Open Source, that means you pay nothing. However we also do not offer any technical support. It is your product.  You may do what you wish with it. You can download it for free, including the source code.

Q: If this is really free, how do you make money?
A: First of all, I do other things for a living, this is open source. I am releasing this for free hoping that it helps others either to have a free EMR for their clinic, or to aid them in developing their own EMR solutions. Take it and do what you wish with it.  However if a company is using this software and wishes me to get their IT staff (programmers, network admins, etc.) up to speed on the code, I can do that.  Contact me at chuck@chuckeasttom.com for thatl.

Q: Is EZ EMR CCHIT certified?
A:  No,  And for good reason. The CCHIT certification costs tens of thousands of dollars. And is one reason so many EMR products are outrageously expensive. And I am sure you, like us, have seen some very bad products that were CCHIT certified. Also it should be noted that CCHIT is not (at least at this point) a requirement for stimulus funds. CCHIT is trying to formulate a certification specifically for ARRA, but that is their own initiative, not a government requirement, and CCHIT has not yet finalized it.
